About the Campaign.CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN - MarketOSU is the product of an Ohio State student who was frustrated with the options he had for buying and selling his textbooks and event tickets. Why was the whole process so disorganized and often done on Facebook? And why are nine-tenths of the responses on Craigslist garbage?On August 20, 2012, MarketOSU launched with two basic services: the exchange of textbooks and student football tickets. Our mission is to save students time by connecting buyers and sellers, and avoiding bookstores at all cost. By limiting our services to students with a valid student email address, provide accountability and results, all while giving you more time to enjoy your time being a college student. With MarketOSU, not only can you post or browse books and tickets that are currently available, you can add those that you are looking for to your Watch List. When that item is posted and becomes available, you will receive an email alert - no constant checking back and no fear of missed opportunities. Facebook is great for a lot of things - but not for buying or selling your books and event tickets. We eliminate time spent wading through Facebook groups, and since MarketOSU is only available to Ohio State students, that means no creeps or spammers. In just a month after the launch of our Beta, we have thousands of Ohio State students using MarketOSU. But we don't want to stop there. The launch was so successful that people have been asking for more features, such as apartment furniture, electronics, other event tickets, campus specials, and even job and apartment listings. We're partnering with UFunded to make the Watch List feature more robust and take MarketOSU to the next level to become THE platform for students to exchange goods and information. To do that, I need your help. I need funding to pay for larger servers, legal fees, and finish development of the new features. I'm also looking to create a marketing campaign to take the MarketOSU model to other schools within the Big Ten and solve this problem for other students nationwide. He developed much of the web presence for The Ohio State University, and has been partner on a number of web startups. Larry Scott - Rails Developer Larry is the technical lead for Hatch Lab, keeping a firm grip on all emerging technologies. He is a Ruby on Rails evangelist, and has worked with Founders Factory, COTA, Columbus Dispatch, Lane Aviation, and more of Columbus’ largest organizations. Josh Watters - Developer and Founder of Hatch Lab Josh handles partner building and oversight for Hatch Lab. He has worked with the City of Columbus and with a number of other public and private sector organizations in and around Columbus. Josh earned his BS at DeVry University, and has pursued entrepreneurship ever since. Molli Ross - Graphic Designer Molli Ross is a 20 year old student at the award winning School of Advertising Art in Kettering, Ohio.
